Hi Ya'll from Louisiana
Dont know how I got out of the loop on getting on this forum before now but glad to be here now, in the company of the rest of you Dutch Shep lovers! Having had GSDs for nearly 50 years, with participation in GSD rescue and nearly 200 rescues through my home, a DS rescue came thru during the Katrina aftermath. I was also intrigued by a couple of DS LE K9s in my training group. Next thing I know, a rescue pup came to my home and I was totally smitten. She stayed. Zip is her name. A few other DS rescues have been through here since. My canine companions and I have ventured in a variety of dog sports over the many years to include DVG Schutzhund, AKC ob, rally, herding, tracking, agility, S&R (HR - water cadaver) and some narcotic detection. Have participated in a few festival events as K9 security as well. Most recently have been deeply involved in herding training some of my guys as well as some client dogs for functional use on local cattle farms. Dont use Zip very often in herding as her stock grip is usually a death grip. But I have definitely been bitten by the DS bug and will hopefully always have at least one in my home.

Welcome here! I still cannot pride myself in having intelligence or a memory as good as my dogs. Your intro sounds so darn familiar, but if you don't mind, maybe you can add a name to your signature so fools like me could actually remember your real name.

Uh oh, just read this post and realized I failed to sign my other post about Leih's puppy. Will follow Eric's instructions in doing so here out. Sorry folks.

Oh and Judith, dont feel bad. I always remember dogs' names, not so often their owners/handlers tho. But yes, the intro from GSDNanny is indeed me.
