just an idea...how about a thread for each state, or maybe groups of states (to make less threads)
that way there's not a new post every time one of us spots a potential dutch in a shelter, we can just add it to an existing thread, help keep it non-cluttered, and we can keep an eye on our state/region to see if there's anything we can do to help
