Tell us about yourself: My name is Karen and I have a dutch shepherd, Xander, born 6/14/13. He is my second dutch shepherd. My first was Rawly. Even though Xander is my second I still have a lot to learn. That is why I'm here, to learn, get advice, and meet people who love these guys as much as I do.

I Think We Are Back

Post by karenz »

I’ve had ALOT of catching up to do and still haven’t read all the posts over the last month. But, I’m slowly catching up. I had a snowboarding accident and broke my jaw and face in about 6 places. So 1 surgery later I’m getting close to being somewhat better. Me and Xander have missed seeing all the posts and pictures lately but I wasn’t up to doing anything for awhile. Xander is doing great and was actually not horrible while I was healing. We did not get to spend as much time outside and doing commands and training. We had to compromise on some inside stuff and trying to keep him entertained with stuff other than running and ball and the active fun stuff. But he hung in there and did great. We searched for items in the house, he got practice on bringing me his “babies” when I asked for a certain one, we practiced sit and stay, and other random things. Thankfully my mom was around to still get him outside to run and play ball some too. We are glad to be back and will be trying to catch up on all the new posts.

Had no idea that's why you weren't around. Very happy to hear you're on the mend, and that Xander did well during your down time. I hope you're fully recovered soon!

I had a feeling we were missing someone recently. Welcome back. I'm happy to hear your getting better, and it sounds like Xander was a real trooper during the recovery.
