Tell us about yourself: Lifelong animal person- I professionally trained horses before my children were born. New to DS's, but not new to high drive working dogs. :) Currently have a 1 1/2 yr old DS, Koenig, and a 2 yr old English Pointer Sara. They are both rescues. Oh yes, I work at a multi species non-profit animal rescue, on Bainbridge Island, WA

Unusual NW weather!

Post by turnnburn52984 »

We've had quite the cold blast up here the last few days- temps in the low 20's, and SNOW! Virtually unheard of in the lowlands in November. We took advantage, and have spend lots of time playing outside, and training. Apparently my DS is weather-proof. :) Here are a couple pics.

Koenig does not mind if it's 23 degrees out- he's still up for work!

He LOVES runaways!

This is the only decent pic we got of our tracking... a very BOLD squirrel decided to cross our track 10' in front of the dog...
:ds: took a min to get Koenig focused again!

We had a discussion about tail carriage.... this is the highest I've ever seen Koenig's. :) He lost his ball, and was very upset!

It's fuzzy, but this is Koenig's Greyhound/Racehorse impression. I'm suprised my klutz dog didn't trip himself!

Relaxing, for the moment. ;)

Tell us about yourself: I live in Metro-West Boston with my husband and our rescued Dutch Shepherd, Minnie. She loves anything involving activity. Our first rescued DS, Kaya, loved to tug. Our second rescued DS (who actually turned out to be a GSDx), Marley, loved to nap. I volunteer for the North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue and am a member of the NADSR BOD.

He's gorgeous! Great pics! I need to catch a photo of Madix's tail - it literally touches his back when he's on high alert (which is ONLY when working lol)

Thanks everyone! I was a bit concerned about taking my camera out in the cold... but I'm glad I did! :)
