So for anyone who knew H as a pup, he HATED men. I always partially wondered if he would ever take to someone I brought home and was in my lifelong term. The first time H met DH he immediately allowed him to pet and play with him. No long warming up period. No multiple repetitions of commands to make sure H would respect him. Fast forward a year later and DH is the only person H will give a kiss to on command (I’m chopped liver), allows to cuddle him, and he gets very excited when he comes home. He still worries about me if we fight but damn if I’m always shocked when H acts like he has puppy love for DH.
