DS and Hockey

Did you see a Dutch Shepherd somewhere? Out in public? On Television? In a movie?

Tell us about yourself: Hi there.
I WILL be a new Dutch Shepherd owner on July 20th!!! Puppies are on the ground and a huge litter at 14! Very excited. I chose the Dutch because I like high drive dogs and my husband likes shepherds. We both have had GSDs in our past. I also am interested in search and rescue training. I live in the mountains of California and have two older Australian Shepherds. I do know that I have a job managing this pack. My husband is on board with it all. No kids. Both of us have flexible jobs. We are active folk but aging! ;-))
Still we mountain bike, hike, cross-country ski and my husband runs. I walk in the woods with the dogs 3 times a day and we are lucky to have US Forest right out the door. So that is it.

DS and Hockey

A friend of mine went to meet the trainer in Sacramento that trained this DS. Never thought to socialize Tygo to Darth Vader and the Storm Troopers.

This is what Thor did recently:

Police K-9 Thor lays down hammer on assault suspect
By The Record
February 02, 2014 - 7:03 PM
STOCKTON — A police dog named Thor on Sunday disarmed and took down a suspect carrying a hammer and a loaded handgun outside the home of a woman he had allegedly assaulted the day before, according to police.

Brought to the ground was Juan Hernandez, who was taken to a local hospital to treat dog bites on his arm before being booked at the San Joaquin County Jail. He is facing burglary, resisting arrest, weapons and other charges.

On Saturday, a 38-year-old woman told police that Hernandez had assaulted her and pointed a firearm at her. On Sunday at about 1:37 p.m., she called to report that Hernandez came back to the home in the 2000 block of East Hazelton Avenue and was trying to get inside, police said.

When officers arrived, they saw Hernandez on the side of the house holding a hammer.

He reportedly refused an order to drop the hammer and get on the ground. And when he turned and ran, Thor's handler sent the dog after the fleeing Hernandez. In the backyard, an officer reported seeing Hernandez turn and face the dog, putting his left hand in his jacket pocket.

The dog grabbed Hernandez's left arm, yanking his hand out of the pocket. The force of the dog's attack caused the gun Hernandez held in that hand to fly several feet away, police said.
