- Tell us about yourself: I have had a DS for almost a year. Gwen and I are considering participating in PSA and or possible Ring Sport. I also have a Great Dane. I have grown up around working GSDs and my last GSD was a working K9 officer. I am all about dogs and animals in general and want to learn as much as I can about training.

I bought this when I had fuzz brain.. .. It is about five weeks old. Have you thought about acquiring another controller? A single? I think Christie M. is a dogtra reseller she may be able to help you find the right controller.

Thanks for the suggestion (I kept my old collar so I am not up a river) but, I don't think I can add a controller to the two dog system. Dogtra isn't flexible that way. I will ask her though... I am glad I did not sell the old one before I figured out my particular issue.

I know that you can replace transmitters and receivers, so I suppose you probably could order a second transmitter if you want to. We would just have to make sure they have the serial number information to make sure it was comparable. Transmitters are usually almost as much as a new one dog unit, but it's not a bad idea. Then you could each take one collar and transmitter when you travel, and you could use the same transmitter for 2 dogs if you take them out together. I might have to look into that for me too!

Wow! That sounds like a fantastic idea. Right now I am traveling with the 175 and have an extra collar sitting at home. I figured that I could sell it when I got the new system to help defray the cost. But I haven't been able to because the dogs are separated. Yay! let me know what you find out.
