Ok what's with this now.
When I walk Dutch he walks beside or behind me. I don't have any problems. When He's off leash he stays with 10 feet of me. He will run off then come back he come when I call him and when I say enough he stops. If there's biker (cycles not motor) or joggers he stays low and out of their way. A lot of the joggers now know him say hi keep going.
We walk him separately because of schedules.
I have stated in the past Dutch has completely taken off, but the hasn't happened in a while.
The other night me and hubby walked him together. He was balking jumping running ahead all kinds of crap I don't allow. When I let him off leash he would run at me not hubby just me. I haven't had this in a while. Hubby said the same thing. He's a little crazy when he walks him but not this bad. I felt like my arm was being yank off. It wasn't much better when hubby had the leash.
Could he not like he 2 of us walking him at the same time?

- Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. He died july17,2012. i am dying without him. www.youtube.com/tracesobaka www.dogster.com/dogs/637612

Re: New nuttiness
my reaction is that probably he is simply extra happy at having the whole family together for an outing.

I thought that too but it's a little more aggressive and competitive. More like "listen you 2 I'm in charge of the walk now".
I could just simply look at it as happy. I'm thinking we do more walk together. Once a week.

Re: New nuttiness
I would add in dual activities and keep the rules the same as if you were walking him separately. My guy will sometimes try that if I have someone else with me on a walk. I don't stand for it. I'm patient but I'm also firm with my rules. He'll learn. It's a testing of the limits, especially if he's not sure what the rules are when he's never had the both of you on a walk.
