So sorry to learn of your loss. I have recently been at the vets while my nephews had to put their pit down due to colon cancer. The vet was excellent describing all that would transpire. He first injected her with a drug that completely relaxed the dog and then after a few minutes injected her with a drug that stopped the dog's heart and lungs from functioning. Very peaceful, albeit saddening. My heart broke when you described your experience...
