Trio Trial - Central Ohio April 1,2,3, 2011

Post by icvanstra »

Just heard that Central Ohio Dogsport is hosting a "trio trial" (I made that up -- ) April 1,2 and 3rd, 2011.

It will be a PSA, Schutzhund and French Ring trial.

Are combined events becoming more popular?

I think that they are.

In every sport, there are the die-hards. Those are the people totally committed to that one sport and who want to achieve the highest levels. However, I think a larger population of people exist who are just there to have a good time with their dogs. For them, achieving an entry level titles is a huge accomplishment.

Couple that with the fact that there are many sports available in NA, and I think that people want to give new things a try. Lastly, every sport is looking to increase its own membership.....so combined trials offer new experiences, increased membership for both participating sports and the opportunity for crossover training and ideas.
