Tell us about yourself: I live in Metro-West Boston with my husband and our rescued Dutch Shepherd, Minnie. She loves anything involving activity. Our first rescued DS, Kaya, loved to tug. Our second rescued DS (who actually turned out to be a GSDx), Marley, loved to nap. I volunteer for the North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue and am a member of the NADSR BOD.

2013 NADSR Calendar Photo VOTE is on!

Post by cake73 »

Dear Dutch Shepherd Enthusiasts,

Welcome to the 2013 North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue Calendar Vote!

Voting begins on November 13 and ends on November 21.

Please, vote for your ONE favorite photo for each category.
Be sure to look at all of the photos in all of the categories before placing your vote.
All votes are final. You cannot go back and change your vote once you have submitted it.

ONE VOTE PER SERVER IP ADDRESS will be allowed for each category.
If you have several family members voting (5, for example), please let us know by sending a message to calendar@dutchshepherdrescue.org

Those suspected of cheating will have their DS Forum accounts banned and run the risk of having their photo(s) removed from the calendar vote.

To view the photos and place your vote:
1) If you are not already a member of the Dutch Shepherd Forum, you will need to become one first in order to vote
2) Go to http://www.dutchshepherdforum.com and scroll down to the "NADSR Calendar" section
3) From the index page, click on a voting category, "Rescued Dutch Shepherd" for example
4) Click on the topic "Vote: Rescued Dutch Shepherd"
5) Scroll down to look at the photos
6) Select a button under where it says "Please vote for one photo"; each button corresponds to a photo
7) Submit your vote. You can only vote once per category and cannot change your vote once it's placed.

On future visits to the category topics, you will see the current vote standings of the photos in that category.

Each dog can only win one category.
The "rules" can be reviewed by clicking on the topic "Voting Instructions."

In the event that the same dog wins more than one category, the photo with the greatest number of votes for that dog will be used and the dog with the second highest number of votes in the alternate category will be selected.

In the event that a category does not receive any entries, the NADSR board of directors reserves the right to pull submissions from other categories in order to achieve 12 photos for the calendar. This decision will be made at the discretion of the Board in an effort to demonstrate the versatility of the breed. This year, the month of October is reserved for a collage of dogs helped by NADSR in 2012 (over 45 so far!).

If you do not see a photo that you submitted for consideration in the 2013 NADSR Calendar Vote, the dog pictured may not have closely resembled the Dutch Shepherd Dog breed standard, the photo may not have met the minimum image size requirement of 1100x850 pixels, or you may not have included a form with your submission. If you did not resubmit your photo(s) after you were contacted regarding this requirement, your photo(s) may be used in the calendar cover collage.

If you submitted a photo of a dog to a category that was won by that same dog during the previous year's vote, then an effort was made by the NADSR calendar committee to enter that photo in another category.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful photos (and stories) with us!

cheers,
Cheryl

North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue is a 501(c)3 organization and has been incorporated since 11 January 2006 as the need for an organized rescue group became more apparent. Since its inception, NADSR has placed hundreds of dogs, which is quite a lot considering the Dutch Shepherd is an uncommon breed in the United States.

NADSR is a foster-based organization that does not operate a shelter. In an effort to match each dog with a home best suited to meet this breed's unique needs, the temperament and behavior of each dog is carefully evaluated while they are in foster care. Dogs are also ta! ught good house manners, basic obedience skills and are socialized whi le in foster care.

You can help NADSR's rescue efforts by volunteering to assist with shelter id, transport, fostering and donations. You may also support NADSR by shopping at http://www.cafepress.com/nadsr, the only online source for many Dutch Shepherd items that supports NADSR. Some of NADSR's expenses include, but are not limted to: shelter fees, physical exams, spay or neuter surgery, heartworm testing and meds, vaccinations, treatments for illnesses, microchipping, transport and food.
