I get a lot of inquiries about whether I'm good off leash. While I'm all for fun, what I need the most is an involved owner who can continue to guide me though my doggie teenager years with love and positive consistency...and affection! I love back scratches and belly rubs. And I love riding in the car and curling up by your feet too! I'm a great walking, hiking, and running partner, and I have recently learned to jog along side a bicycle.
As you can see in the video, https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=173163679534567, I've worked hard on greeting people without jumping on them. This is something I will need to continue to work on. Similarly, I love playing with other dogs yet as I continue to learn and mature I'll need an owner who will give me supervision with other dogs....some little dogs growl or snap at me....other older dogs show sign's of "I don't want to play with you".
I want to thank the MCHS for giving me a chance to turn my life around. To learn about my journey visit my blog:

Note: my paperwork says I'm a Lab/Shepherd mix. My trainer felt I was part DS because of my learning style and desire to work (as well as my markings). Therefore I'm posting here on the Dutch Shepherd Forum. I've been in foster for 8 months now and while it's a great home, I'm like a teenager (in fact I am a doggie teenager) who's ready to set off on my own new path. I'm adoptable! I've been taking advantage of bi-weekly training classes at the Foster Dog Alliance in Rockville, MD and have learned so much!
