I was there Sunday and saw this gorgeous dog that had been picked up as a stray. I spoke with the shelter and they told me he is dominant aggressive but adoptable to the right home - I have three cats so I can't take him. Is there anyone in South Florida who can help me find this amazing dog a home? He seems so intelligent, allowed me to pet him.....

Tell us about yourself: I live in Metro-West Boston with my husband and our rescued Dutch Shepherd, Minnie. She loves anything involving activity. Our first rescued DS, Kaya, loved to tug. Our second rescued DS (who actually turned out to be a GSDx), Marley, loved to nap. I volunteer for the North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue and am a member of the NADSR BOD.

He was ultimately pulled by North American Dutch Shepherd Rescue.
Dex is now in foster, recovering from surgery to the ear hematoma to correct the surgery done on it by the shelter vet.

Cheryl in MA, with rescued DS
Kaya, adopted January 2006 (over the bridge, September 2014)
Marley, adopted February 2008
Minnie, adopted March 2015

Thanks Cheryl for the update. I didn't realize this was Dex.

So, Dex still needs a forever home, right?

When will he be recovered enough for an adoption?

It looks like the NADSR has made Dex available for adoption.

He's all healed up, and based on the descriptions he is a very playful loving dog despite the rough patch he's gone through.

If you're interested, start by filling out an adoption application here.
