i hope to post in the right section, if not, please feel free to move it :) i would like to share my happiness, last night i went to a local exhibition, where there was a show dog contest and i decided to try with rembrandt. He's 13 months now.. He get 1exc bob and 4th place at the best in show (young) :D not too bad for a workin' dog, isn't it? :)

Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.
Can't wait for all the snow to get gone! Spring is coming too slow this year!

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.

Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!

I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.

the show is a local near bergamo.. Only rembrandt as dutch sheph, but is very difficult find other dutchies in italy.. We found only a male at the international show in erba (como) in december.. We were 6 months, juniores..

thank u all!! I'm a proud mummy in love with my baby striped boy!! I've always taught that a workin'dog could also be a beautiful dog, correct and in type.. All my dogs have taken excellent in show, and i hope for rembrandt a great career on show rings.. Also for show people that dutchies exist! :)

I agree, no reason a good dog can't be beautiful, correct in structure and character, and work at the task the owner asks of them, regardless of what that task may be, with willingness to please and the intellegence to do so.

nice pic! It's always good to show the breed to people who may have never heard of them :)
I know of some Dutch Shepherds that went to the show in Turin, maybe fun to go look for you next year? To see more Dutch Shepherds ;)
