I just adopted this beautiful girl from a guy on craigslist who said he couldn't keep her. He said she was a 4 month old german shepherd, but when I arrived to meet her, I felt she was not a pure german shepherd. But she wasn't in a great situation, and I couldn't leave her there, so I decided to get her. From what I've read about dutch shepherd, I believe she is either a dutch or dutch german cross. She does get along very well with my german shepherd. So, do you think she's dutch, dutch x german, or not dutch at all? These were the best shots I could get. Her ears are sometimes all up and sometimes just the tips are folded forward. Thanks for your help.

Re: Is she a Dutch shepherd?
That's either a dutch shepherd German shepherd mix or a German shepherd malinois mix

Yep. looks like a DS or Mal mix. Look up sable GSD... It'd be interesting to see how her coloring matures.

Re: Is she a Dutch shepherd?
Thanks everyone for the replies. Appreciate the input. Dutchringgirl, do you mean you don't see any dutch or you don't see any german? The reason I was leaning towards the dutch x german was because her stature compared to other german pups I have had, and her coloring with the small white patch on her chest (just realized I didn't get pic of it), just didn't appear all german to me. Again, thanks for comments, I am always looking to learn.

i dont see DS orGSD. usually if its a GSD mix there will be some sable blanket. i dont see any features of a DS either. Usually ill spot some clue of either. Nothing on her tells me either. Now i am not the end all of breeds, but i can usually pick something out.

A friend of mine bred a little of Dutchie x Gsd and the ones that had Dutchie in them looked very similar to this dog... the ones that carried the malinois where red
