Could Arya Be A Dutch Shepherd?

Post by TheProdigalPinata »

Hi all, my name is Hunter and I am located in the Pensacola, FL area. Every Saturday at our local PetsMart they host an adopt a thon. On August 5th I adopted this beautiful girl. We were told she was a GSD/Akita and we were happy with that. Now mind you, they never had eyes on the parents.

We were happy and content. As I started to do my research though, I didn’t really find any dogs that resembled her. Then I did research and I came across the Dutch Shepherd breed. I reached out to fellow Dutch owners on IG and they all believe her to be one. Now, I know internet opinions only matter so much. I will be ordering a K9 panel shortly. She is so smart i can’t even explain it and her drive is through the roof. We planned on starting her with SAR training, but the local unit is hesitant with her being a possible Akita mix.

I tried to get these photos to work, the one with the thre puppies are her sister and the fawns are her brothers. The rest kinda jump around in time.

Currently she is 18 weeks and sitting at 41lbs. I am just trying to get to the bottom of this. Thanks so much!

It wouldn’t come back as a Mal? I just really want to get involved in SAR and need some proof.

First, don't forget that a litter can have multiple sires. Second, why would the group shy away from an akita mix anyway?

From what she told us, Akita‘s are too aggressive and prey driven to be a SAR dog. Which obviously is not true, and we are almost positive she is not an Akita mix.

When I tested a malinois it came back Chinese crested and Bernese mountain dog lol so no it won't they are very inaccurate and basically just there to make people feel like they know what they have! Those are 100% dutch shepherd and malinois...

:DSlove: Looks like a Dutch to me, but I'm so green, you can't take my word for it. It's just an opinion from me.

Steve, I wonder what your DNA would result in. I would love to send in mine but I am guessing it's an expensive test to just play around with. Hahaha
