All,
I will be making some updates to the board over the next couple of days. The first is a change to make it easier to do the next items...
Going to implement a modification to the board that will automatically dimensionally resize photos for you. We will still have a limit to how big the file size is ... but it will likely increase.
Going to implement a modification that should make the board more readable. This is not so much an issue with people that have smaller monitors. On larger monitors the forum take up the full screen. After reviewing numerous other forums utilizing the PHPBB3 software...the look/feel of them is just so much easier to read.
Some other items that I'm looking at... more info later.

Re: Board changes / Modifications 3/9/11
All,
HUGE thanks to Bob for his help this afternoon.
I didn't read the instructions exactly as I should have and needed a little help getting the first two modifications in place. Time for a:
My apologies to everyone if we lost a post or two. Ended up having to do a restore of the database and website. I had surfed the site prior to starting the upgrades and checked to see if the posts I saw were still around ... and they were. If someone posted in the hour or so that we had a problem it will be gone (around 1600 to 1700 EST 3/9/2011).
So!! On to the wonderful new world of DSForum.
We have lifted the restrictions on how large (dimensionally) a photo can be. We have increased the file size to 512Kb. There are still many people with slower internet connections and they have a lot of problems with the larger images.
What has changed with this modification?
When you either link to or attach an image it will create a smaller version of the image within the post. When you click on the image in the post it will "pop open" the picture in front of the web page. Move your mouse to the lower left corner of the popped up image and there should be a symbol you can click on to make it even bigger. Click anywhere on the "popped" image and it will close.
Here is an example - click on the image:
Changes like this are NOT retroactive.

p.s. For the pop out of the images Java needs to be installed ... which most people already have installed.

Cool sh** Eric.
The pop up is very nice. Maybe ad instructions for computer dummies (like me) on how to get rid of the pop up too?
I did figure it out, but did not see an official way to close it? (x in the right hand corner, for example?)
And if it is a dog board, does a pop up become a PUP up?

Judith, when I move the cursor anywhere over the image, I do get some instructions. It tells you how to drag, get ride of or enlarge even bigger. Are you able to see those?vneerland wrote:Cool sh** Eric.

Eric,
You do realize the image resize isn't working. Needs added to ALL styles.
EDIT: I made the changes, all is well.

Looking at the logs and I'm not sure what you did.
Was it going into AutoMOD and applying the change to ProSilver SE (bottom of the page)?
