Hey Eric,

I'm going to suggest you drop the moderation of each new post when someone joins this board. Not only is that incredibly frustrating for the poster, if the board actually picks up, it could be a real PITA over time for the moderators.

I know Yahoo lists typically do this, but the other boards I frequent don't. You read the rules, agree to them, then if you viloate the rules, there are consequences. Depending on the board, sometimes you're temporarily banned, or in other cases, just permanently banned right off. Fine. I much prefer that to having to wait for my posts to be cleared.

JMO ;)

My personal opinion is that I would rather see known members advanced faster (lift moderation, if possible) but for total newbies, I think it would cut down on the ads for viagra (I assure you I will never need that) or sex sites (I assure you I will never like that) and whatever else floods lists if one is not careful. Moderation is set at a low enough number, from what I was told.

It is set to five.

I did it to knock out the spammers and such. Talking to Christie they opened up the PSA BB so that everyone could post immediately and everyone got approved immediately. From what she told me they do have a problem with spam, but taking care of it was easier than moderating all new posts.

Let me get with the moderators and see what the consensus is.

Hey Eric, thanks for looking into it. Not being a moderator, I never have to deal with the spam problem, and I thought it had more to do with inappropriate posts  .

Guess I'll just make a few more posts if the number is 5  .

I turned it off for now. Let see how many of the masses join in the near future! :D

If we start having problems I may turn it back on.

I noticed! Thanks. I sure hope it doesn't become a problem, but it won't be mine in any case  (geeze, talk about self-centered!).

No, we tried, but they are too smart to accept the position. :g_wink:
