Hi,

I am a new member from Michigan. I currently do not have a dutch shepherd but I am extremely interested. I would love to do some shed hunting and blood tracking with this dog in the future. It would be a family dog as well. Looking for a good breeder in the Michigan area.

The noses on these dogs are amazing. I think certain strains of Malinois have superior noses and hunt readily.......Dutch Shepherd’s as well.

Seems like I can only find two breeders in Michigan? Anyone have suggestions?

Look at the lines of the dogs. The more working titled dogs in the lines the more even the temperament and the more sound their genetic health. It simply means they were smart enough to be trained to that level and their health is sound enough to be able to compete. You can get the hardest KNPV lines dog and it would still be a great dog around your family. It's how you raise the animal, lots of love, bonding, obedience training, even protection training, all while socializing around other people etc.
