Do they request a picture of your dog to start the test ?

No, they don't request a picture, just the swab of dog's mouth. Then they determine the traits and health results from looking at the genes and list a bunch of information. So for Laszlo when I click on "Traits" then it lists all of these below. It also gives more details if you click on each one. So I clicked on "Likely to have hind dew claws" (which he does) and it pulls up the more detailed information below. There's also a Health section and they test for about 180 different things. It's a lot of info, it's pretty interesting. It seems pretty accurate on appearance traits. I wonder why it doesn't have something about ears though. I'm curious what they could tell from the genes.

None of the information that you posted here determines the breed of dog.....

That is one of the pages, the main page has the breed break down, including the breed break down of the parents and grandparents. There is also a page of "relatives".

When I pull out my Surface, I can post Bramble's other pages. Just hard to do on an Android from DuckDuckGo.

I found a way to share Laszlo's profile, it provides a link (I hope it works). On the summary tab, if you scroll down to "Genetic Breed Result" there is a link there "Learn how it's done" and that page gives more info. This public profile link of him doesn't show the "Relatives" tab that only I can view under my own log-in.

I took advantage of the $99 special to get a test kit for Leela. I know - not a Dutch Shepherd - but I wanted to compare the results between Wisdom and Embark.

Anyone want to take some guesses at her breed/mix?
No fair peaking at her Wisdom results in this thread

From looking at Leela I would guess there is Carolina Dog in her, mixed with some other breeds, maybe GSD and not sure what else. I'm sure the results will be something different and surprising though!

I'm going to guess some lab in the mix based on her coat and chest.

Tell us about yourself: New to Dutch Shepherd life. Adopted Mercy from a rescue on May 8th, 2020. She was born on January 22, 2020. Labeled by rescue as a Dutch Shepherd mix. The more we get to know her, and learn about DS, the more we see this is most definitely true!

I would guess GSD, some retriever, lab, some other herding...
