We are adopting Yogi from an animal shelter and are wondering if you guys think he is a Dutch Shepherd? Mixed? What other breeds does he look like he could be mixed with? Just curious about what you see
Thanks!

Honestly, the composition of the pictures make it really difficult to tell.
The head shape looks wrong in almost all the pictures - snout too small, stop is curved instead of straight, ears too wide at the base.
The tail is wrong - it should start smooth with some fluff at the end, but it is puffy the full length.
The legs seem to short in proportion to the body, but that may be picture angle.
All in all, I would say possible some DS mix, but very likely not.
Keep in mind that "visual" breed identification is faulty at best.
Otherwise, the dog is gorgeous. How is his temperament?

Hi,
Thank you for your response. He is still at the shelter. We are waiting to bring him home. He was a cruelty case rescue so he is really timid, and afraid/hesitant of people, sad, depressed, low energy, apathetic. He wouldn’t let me touch him though he seemed like he wanted to. He’s alert and a little stubborn. We haven’t spent enough time with him to give an accurate assessment. Maybe he’s a German mix?? We’ll probably get a dna test out of curiosity. Any other feedback welcome, thanks.

Thank you so much for rescuing. I hope with big love and a good home he'll come out of his shell.Yogiii8195 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 19, 2019 4:35 pm He was a cruelty case rescue so he is really timid, and afraid/hesitant of people, sad, depressed, low energy, apathetic. You'll probably have to go at his pace with lots of short play/training activities to build his confidence. Good luck.

Ok thank you for your comments and help. We got him home and he is the sweetest boy ever. Probably not DS because he is pretty low energy. Thanks
