I'm trying to get a registration number for my dog Mya. I received her almost a year ago, she is now 4 and according to the paperwork that came with her, she was from the Black Creek Kennel in Hamilton. Since this facility is no longer in existence.....how would I get the needed paperwork to ensure she is registered?
I do think I found her in the pedigreedatabase and it says her parents were Whiskey and Maddy.
What can I do now?

If she is already registered, you will need the person that she is registered to, to transfer the papers to you. Is it because you want to breed her?

- Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.

Somrone does have interest in her for potential breeding yes. I have no particular organization I specifically in mind, more just wondering if I could find out If she was registered. The issue is with this Stuart character .... I assume he is the one who has the potential papers.

Whiskey is a German Shepherd. I don't think you can ethically register your dog as a DS, though the UKC is pretty relaxed about their registration standards. They have registered a lot of dogs with Malinois and German Shepherds in their 3 generation pedigree. I don't know how they actually did this, though. Maybe there were special rules during the initial registration period in 1995.

Maybe you can try looking into some kind of registration with the Working DS Assoc.

Anyway, there are a lot of people breeding DS without papers.

I would think very carefully about you and your friend breeding your female. What would the purpose of the breeding be, and where would all the pups end up? Do you already have 10 homes on a waiting list--with deposits?
Breeding and raising dogs is VERY expensive. Just food alone---if you've never fed a growing litter you will not believe the amount of food they can eat. (Along with a pregnant/lactating bitch.)
Vet bills are also very high, and hopefully your female won't be lost in the whelping. (Believe me, that can happen.) If she whelps OK, there are still other medical emergencies that could kill her, or cause an emergency spay. Are you prepared to hand raise a litter if the worst should happen? Do you have the facilities to house all the pups if they aren't sold, and the time to socialize them?Advertisements are also expensive.
Will you be x raying both parents? Testing for doggies STD's (yes there are those too) before mating?
Also, if you're looking to make some quick money, that doesn't usually happen.
Yeh, the neighbors dog next door might have had 10 pups, by herself, in the dead of winter, under the porch, and all went to wonderful homes, but..................
