I FINALLY got Ziva's PennHIP scores back yesterday. She is 0.31/0.35 which puts her in the top 30% of the breed. Plus, those scores are just plain nice and show pretty tight joints. I am so happy!

Thanks all. Ziva will be 2 in May, and she is out of Asheley's "G" Litter - Borius, IPO3/Arca, PH1. Arca is a half sister to Willow (my princess dog) which really, really made me want a pup out of her.

Actually, I got Geisha out of the G litter when she was 9 weeks old. She is a SUPER nice dog, but had very little prey drive in work and HUGE confidence so working her in defense really wasn't an option (not that that's my first choice anyway). Ash and I agreed that she wasn't breeding material, and she has recently been placed in a home up in PA. Honestly, Geisha was a great dog. She is the perfect dog for almost anyone. Confident. Social. Gorgeous. Just not quite enough there to really work.

Ziva had originally been sent to FL, but then became available. Ash asked if I would evaluate her to see if she would be a good prospect for us to put with Tenn Hwy Patrol (like Rusty from her E litter). Once she was here, it was apparent that she wasn't going anywhere. She is absolutely perfect with the other dogs, GREAT prey and hunt drives, deep natural full grip - right in the pocket which I LOVE. She's a pushy girl, who uses her size to try to get her way, but not ever in malice. She'll just LEAN into you, or things, or doors. LOL.

I plan to compete with her in IPO and PSA (and anything else she enjoys). Getting her hips back just cemented that I actually get to keep a dog. We are planning on breeding her, but I have a lot of work to do in a short amount of time

She would be absolutely perfect if she hadn't learned that squirrels are the most entertaining things EVER...and that cats look a lot like squirrels.

I have never had PennHIP take longer than 4 weeks, and usually its around 3. With Ziva, I finally called my vet at about 6 weeks and asked them to call PennHIP (apparently they removed the number from their website because of pushy people like me ). When the vet called, they were told that the results "coincidentally, had just been mailed out the day before."

Yeah, right. LOL. And of course they were postmarked with the date of the phone call.

Sounds like you have a new project! Congratulations. It is always nice to find a dog that clicks with you and that you can see doing many many things with in the years to come.

good luck with her for whatever you do!! Her face reminds me a little of Odin and I am glad that there are dutch shepherds out there that just don't have enough drive - makes me very happy, since I couldn't handle it
