Back from Camp

Back frm camp dogwood and the kids had so much fun!! (us humans did too, but don't tell them that!!)

Met Christie (who is amazing, btw), Zeva (hopefully, the spelling is correct) and her adorable french bulldog (whom my husband wanted to steal ). Zeva is really a beautiful dog and what an amazing personality. We were so impressed with her recall and realized Odin does not hv one compared to Zeva - ok - so we have some work cut out for us, because I will not accept anything less now.

Thanks Christie, for all your input on Dakota, Odin and training!!!

It was so nice to meet you, Mark and Dakota - and ofcourse see Odin again. You gyus have done such a great job with both of them! Heck you taught Odin to leave the cat alone. I am no where CLOSE to that! I loved how well both of them did at agility! They loved it.

I so wish we could find someone near you who wasn't all squichy-can't-say-no kinda trainer, but also isn't dominance-is-all-must-be-good-pack-leader kinda trainer. There has to be SOMEONE with sensibility. In the meantime, the DVDs that I was talking about are "The Game" and "Clear Communication" by Ivan Balabanov. He took so well to the rules of tug in just the few minutes that we played with him, I think he will do great with that method! Its all about training behaviors and trying to do so in drive - not "Do it cause I'm making you."

You guys have all come a long way really fast. You know what you are doing! And both dogs have a ton of potential to do almost anything you want!!

We did have a great master trainer for Dakota, but he was so busy that we couldn't get anything set up for Odin, so I tried someone else which, as you know did not work out. I called him again yesterday and he now has an opening for us!! YAY!! We see him on saturday - Mark and I are very happy about this. If we can't have you as our trainer, he is the next best thing!!
