Facebook page.We went swimming the other day, Diesel started heading for the middle of the lake for no apparent reason. Suddenly a loon pops up beside him and starts to chase Diesel! Diesel swam pretty hard to get away from it. The loon escorted him back to shore, never more than 3 feet behind him.
I would have taken pictures but I was also swimming as this happened. I suspect the loon was male and was protecting his family.

Ha, I can just imagine!
Although Zane got chased into his crate by a horsefly the other night. He was trying to catch it (unsuccessfully) and when he couldn't, made a run for his crate and wouldn't come out until I got rid of the fly.

- Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.
