Incredible Dog Challenge

Did you see a Dutch Shepherd somewhere? Out in public? On Television? In a movie?

Tell us about yourself: I was introduced to the Dutch Shepherd breed during my time as an Army veterinary technician working with Military Working Dogs. I fell in love with the breed and by pure chance happened to meet a DS in a local rescue who was a police K9 washout and was up for adoption. We adopted Zodiac right away and she has been an important part of our family ever since. We currently compete in Rally-Obedience and participate in Agility.

I was flipping through television channels tonight and happened to catch the end of the 2012 Incredible Dog Challenge, which had a Dutch Shepherd named Tonka doing the dock dive competition :)

Tell us about yourself: Owner of a rescued DS, my first, that we adopted on faith without meeting and it was love at first sight. I share our DS, named Ku, with the flyingdutchman on this forum. Ku is the Hawaiian Tiki god of war. Ilio is the Hawaiian word for dog

Tonka is a friend of ours, in fact we were there with our Dutch Ku. It was great fun. We were at the DockDogs World Championships this weekend and Tonka, Ku and a number of other DS were competing.

Like any sport - the competition is created for the masses, and the DS and mal step in and dominate :D
