Well the topic says it, we had 10F weather over here and now that it was 75F today skunks came out. When I let the DS out he ran right after one. Before I could tell him come he got it right in the face and neck. I gave him two baths last night and one this morning.. nothing is working.
Baking Soda, Vinegar, shampoo, coconut oil, animal neutralizer(actually made it worse). I also used tide and downy detergents but it's still there. I bought natures miracle from amazon and it's not going to be here for a few days. I'm going to call the vet today and see what they have. Ugh, anyone have any ideas?

Re: Skunk
you need something that breaks down the oil of the skunk spray. Some liquid dish detergent should do
Marco got sprayed more often than my two Labs combined.
I always carry one of these little shampoo bottles from hotels with me with some dish soap in it. Just in case.........

Oh NO !!!! When Thalie got sprayed I mixed peroxide and Dawn and it worked great, you have to do it immediately. She still smelled when she got wet for a good 6 months though but it really helped.

Re: Skunk
Yikes, yeah I tried the peroxide/baking soda trick and dishsoap.. tomato juice doesn't work, we tried that haha. Still didn't fix the smell that was fuming off him. He must of been near a few skunks because it's bad. I went to tractor supply and picked up natures miracle skunk remover. Wow that stuff works... kinda. You put it on him and let it sit for five minutes, then give him a bath. The fuming smell was gone.. if you get near him and smell where he was sprayed you get a hint of it.

Good stuff, honestly when he gets out of the show I couldn't smell any skunk. I'm going to give him a bath tonight after work, this is his 5th bath.. ugh.

Time really and distance. Because we live near a valley we have a lot of woodly creatures. No matter what I've used through the years on my dog. Viniger, detergent commercial products. Time is the only thing that worked. The products cut the smell a lttle but doesn't eliminate.
The dog felt a shamed the last time my dog ran into one.
