Odin goes Country
We brought Odin out of the city and to the place in Michigan we're going to be staying in a month or so. I swear the snow is absorbed as energy. Normally he settles after a few hours of exercise, but he's been nonstop kong-in-face all week.

- Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.
Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!
I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences. - Location: Victoria BC

- Tell us about yourself: Artist, Mother, Equestrienne, Educator, Homesteader wannabe, dog-lover. Not counting my current DS, I have had 2 GSDs and 3 rescued mixed-breeds. All of these dogs were rescues, except for my childhood GSD, who was a gift from my parents when I was 7, and my current DS who I bartered artwork for from the breeder. Maiyou, one of my current dogs, is a Pitbull/New Guinea Singing Dog of 13 years old. Still very active and "Young" in nature. I now also have a DS named Mokume, (pronounced "Moh-koo-meh") or "Moko" for short. Newest member of our pack is Freyja, a random mixed hound I rescued during a horseback trip in the middle of a state forest.

Yay for snow pics! 
I'll have to post some once school resumes and I can get at a real computer again. We just got dumped on by a nor'easter the past couple days. Happy to see it, up til now, we've had a dusting or two, but nothing that stuck, and this is Vermont! No snow will simply not do. So NOW we have snow aplenty after our 2-day blizzard and Mokume is loving it!
I'm trying to catch up on postings after being laid up on vicoden for two days.
No idea what I did, but have had crippling low-back spasm since the evening of the 25th.
Both 5 year old child and 17 week old puppy have been wild and I've had little ability to deal with either of them, so have been sending them out to play in the snow and wear one another out!

Odin absolutely loves the snow. This is the first winter we've had him, and he seems very happy with it all. Our yard back in Chicago is only 20x20 with a concrete sidewalk running the inside border of the fence, so he doesn't get much unorganized exercise. We have to head to a field to let him run, and since there's limited time at the field, I try to cram all of his stimulation and training in too.
Here he gets full rein of 10 acres and is so busy moving things around and checking out everything; it's great. He never ventures more than 100 feet from either of us.
