Tell us about yourself: I've had Belgian Malinois for years at my folks. I just got married, and a friend of mine who does search and rescue, had been keeping an eye out for Mali puppies for me. He came across a 9 month old Dutch Shepherd female pup who needed a home. She doesn't have the nerves to do the search and rescue she was intended for, but is perfect pet material. She's enough of a challenge to be alot of fun :)

My husband took Rufus for his first vet visit this evening. Would you believe the little guy is 29.65 lbs?! He's going to be massive. :lol:

Also, this pup is SMART! He catches on extremely quickly, and is already holding his bladder for 3 hours at a time. He has "Sit" down to a T and we're starting to work on "Down". Food aggression is practically gone, but he still guards his bones. He makes no move to bite, just gets stiff and growls. He is completely fearless...we have yet to find something that phases him.

We are going to have to get one of those "Slow feed" bowls, as this pup wolfs his food in just seconds. We are hand feeding him right now to slow him down a bit...it's ridiculous.

And...first elk bone! lol

My wife and I live north of Houston in Spring, TX. We have 3 kids, age 17, 19 and 20. We have a Dutch Shepherd, 3 Dalmatians and a Maltipoo.

Wow he will be big and with the brains also! That's great.

Yep! He is so much fun. We are both extremely grateful for him.
