Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. He died july17,2012. i am dying without him. www.youtube.com/tracesobaka www.dogster.com/dogs/637612

Haha when we go for a visit they tolerate him they are usually exhausted from working the farm and don't put up with the puppy antics lol he just shrugs it off and will start shoving toys in my lap or chewing a bone.
And haha I say sometimes because I think I'm kinda spoiled he's a super well behaved puppy especially for a Dutch much easier then I was expecting. He's a hard worker and an excellent service dog. He's got a nice on off switch and is very very socal but also knows when to ignore distractions because he's working just an all around good dog I feel very lucky to get to share my life with him

Tell us about yourself: Rescued a dumped DS puppy from the freeway and found his littermate in a nearby shelter two weeks later.

There are many many ways to get a service dog trained I decided to have a private trainer help me to do the training myself because i wanted the experience and a super strong bond also I do train dogs professionally so learning to train him for service work hasn't been such a hard transition I don't like getting into great detail with my disability so all I will say on that subject is I have PTSD and he is learning to help me I choose this breed because I LOVE them and I'm extremely active so it's a good fit for me
