New from the UK

Hi everybody, :D
New on here. Have 2 dogs - 1 DS and 1 GSD. Have owned a few GSDs now but "Elvis" is our first DS. He is great. He's coming 14 months now. Was a fantastic pup to bring up - we got him at 8 weeks from a very responsible UK breeder - he is one of the kids really and loves to herd them up on walks out. I'm finding the breed differences interesting. Elvis is much more secure in his own company and likes to keep watch over his land whereas all of our GSDs like to keep a close eye on our whereabouts so if outside watch me through the door almost constantly.
Anyone else from the UK?

Not from the UK, but welcome!

Seems most members, UK or elsewhere, post a bit, then fade away. We have a core collective, the same as with other boards. With your knowledge, I hope you stick around to share your experience with others, as well share tales and photos.
Though I can only hope to become the person who my animals believe I am, the things that they have taught me have made me a better human being. ~~~Sharon~~~

I'm definitely planning to stick around. There are far more American sites available for info on this great breed. Planning to put some photos up next...

Tell us about yourself: DS and Mal foster newly approved aug'12 by NADSR and ABMCR. high-functioning Autistic in nyc/hamptons in my 60's. Rescued the smartest dog i had ever seen off nyc street in 2000. Tracedog's intelligence exceeded by multiples my judgement that day. My first [and only as of 10/2012] dog turned out to be a DS, perhaps with a touch of something else, but attention to detail, behavioral traits, and physical habits, movement, and skill identical to DS. But MUCH more intellectual ability. supremely confident in all settings, fearless, very outgoing and social with people and friendly with dogs. Seldom apart in over 12 years, Trace Dog was the most important relationship of my adult life; he was my partner. there have been several UK members posting/joining in last year, but nothing regular. [ a very recent regular from Ireland tho.] take a look through the new member section, or maybe ''search'' function for england, uk, etc

Tell us about yourself: Rescued a dumped DS puppy from the freeway and found his littermate in a nearby shelter two weeks later.
