- Tell us about yourself: My name is Karen and I have a dutch shepherd, Xander, born 6/14/13. He is my second dutch shepherd. My first was Rawly. Even though Xander is my second I still have a lot to learn. That is why I'm here, to learn, get advice, and meet people who love these guys as much as I do.

Xander's first time off leash in the open
This was Xander's first time off leash and not fenced in. It was in our front yard. We played ball and he ran around like crazy. When he got out of site I would hide and call him. He came right away. It seems like in the security of the back yard he comes or he doesn't. But out front in the open if he loses sight of me he comes looking for me before I call. He doesn't like me to get out of sight AT ALL
That's a good thing I suppose.

that's great. Enzo loves being off lead and has great recall even when chasing rabbits. I usually do it really late when there are minimal distractions.

YEAH!!!! Sadie loves being off leash too, so do my arms!! She will stay with Thalie too so I dont worry too much.
