My name is Katie! Just brought home my 11 weeks old dutchie, named Dutchess, yesterday and she is acclimating well to her new home and her big sister, a 1.5 chocolate lab!
Super excited to have a dutchie in our lives as they are an amazing and gorgeous breed of dog. The history of the breed hits home as my grandparents are originally from the Netherlands, immigrating in 1950.
Dutchess came from a litter of nine. Her mother, Ellie, is a rescue from Florida and is trained and works with the local sheriffs department in narcotic recovery. Her father, Thor, was brought over from Netherlands in utero and was also a rescue! Thor's Daddy worked for homeland security in the Netherlands and was known as "Bunker," as he was an excellent jumper had no problem clearing the bunkers in the compound where he was trained.
As for Dutchess, I am hoping to agility train her but she is just another kid in the family and we are in absolute love with her!
Excited to be apart of this forum and learn and share new things about this amazing breed!
