- Tell us about yourself: Owner of a 1 1/2 year old shepherd
Greetings from Raleigh, NC
This is my boy Frankie. Got him from the local shelter last July. We think he maybe part or full dutch shepherd, but we are not 100% sure without a DNA test. He's about 50 lbs but has a bump on the top of his head, and has like a howl type of bark at times, which makes us think hes part basenji. Any guesses?

It's hard to say no, when that face looks so much like my Radar, but the rest of the dog screams something else.
Welcome. And, thank you for rescuing.
BTW the dna test won't identify a DS. At least, as of now there's no DNA test that will.

My first impression is no, he is not DS. DNA wont show anything either. He is very beautiful !
Thank you for rescuing.

He is gorgeous! Thanks for taking the rescue route.
My DS has a loud, choppy hound-type howl only when his father and/or I return home. Just his way of expressing jubilation over our arrival, but sounds like he's being dismembered.

Though I can only hope to become the person who my animals believe I am, the things that they have taught me have made me a better human being. ~~~Sharon~~~

You might want to google " dark Malinois", and look at images. I ran across this when trying to figure out what Kella is.
