- Tell us about yourself: Hello, I got my Dutchie on September 30, 2016. She is 3 years old and was rescued from the Animal Control Center in Miami, FL. She was listed as a Belgian Malinois which I am familiar with. When I saw her I knew she was not a Mal but she is so sweet and beautiful that I had to bring her home. My vet identified her as a Dutch Shepherd. She has a genetic defect with her knees and has had 2 ACL type surgeries on one knee thanks to the rescue organization. I am working with a wonderful Ortho Vet to make sure she has the best care. I love how she is not suspicious of people (like my Mal was) and she is friendly to other dogs. I am lucky to have found such a smart and sweet girl.
Hello from Tampa Florida
Just got adopted by my Dutchie on September 30th. She is smart and sweet and we are having fun getting to know each other. She has a genetic defect with her knees and has gone through some surgeries before we met. My Ortho vet wants me to get some weight off her and will evaluate our options in January. Thankfully the vet believes surgery is a last resort.

Welcome. Thank you for rescuing (I got my Radar at Miami Dade Animal Services - listed as a Shepherd-Mix).
Looks like you took on an even heavier burden than a DS already is - Good Luck.
