Seeing if anyone has input

Post by Joxgirl »

Found a Breeder that has us interested. Looking to hear what others found in experience with Vom Warsney Kennel? Any thoughts, or advice you have is welcome. Thank you.

When you mentioned Van Warsney in your FB message, I thought I was familiar with the name because it had appeaed on the forum before. Unfortunately, I could not find any posts with that name doing a search here.

Hopefully you've had an opportunity to read the post here on finding a breeder: How To Select/Research a Breeder.

Although I posted that, it was put together by a very experienced member - I just helped with a little copy-editing. It has some good advice.

Second, while waiting to see if some of the other members have experience with this kennel, you may want to disclose your general location. Other members may be able to provide the name of a breeder close to you.

Thanks for the quick reply. We are here in Southern California. My husband is willing to travel to a good breeder. He mentioned Az yesterday so he's willing to drive a few hours to bring home a good dog. I will read the post you have mentioned. Thanks again.

If you're on Facebook, there's A TON of good, solid dogs that are in seemingly constant stream of being dumped by folks that couldn't handle them. You could potentially get a "green dog" for dirt cheap. Seriously...I think I've seen ten malinois or DS posted just this week near San Diego. Some of these dogs are older, but sometimes there's pups. Some are mixes, but if you pay attention, some have great working and health pedigrees.

Thank you. We will look. We are open to rescue as a way to bring a DS home also.

Are you open to a mal? There's even more of those floating around.

Husband isn't crazy about the Mals. He has been around both as working dogs and has fallen in love with the DS. I love the German Shepherd so when he agreed to the Dutch ( which I saw at a K9 demonstration a few years ago) I was ecstatic.
