Browsers: IE9 and Firefox 4

Post by icvanstra »

Just saw a post this morning that the new software for showing images is not working with Internet Explorer 9.

Jan -- is that what you have on your new laptop?

I have not upgraded to IE9 yet as I have several web based applications that it doesn't work with. Also, I've had to uninstall it from customers when it broke all kinds of weird stuff... So, it will be a while before I do move to it.

I have upgraded to Firefox v4.x and everything appears to be working fine. I do use FF far more than IE.

Testing with Chrome has been limited but successfull. No testing with Safari.

I use almost exclusively Chrome and it has worked fine.

I'm looking into the IE9 issue.

EDIT: See this topic http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/r ... 72#p212872

I did test the fix and it does work.

I posted that I cannot see any images posted after the IE9 upgrade; images posted prior, I can still see. It's only on this forum, though. (Probably nothing on your end?)

If you clear your browser cache the imaged will no longer work in IE9.

All,

I applied the bandaid that Bob mentioned. In the article the author mentions that he is working on updating the software and hopes to have this resolved then.

Since I do not have IE9 installed I cannot test it... Would someone with IE9 please try it out and let me know. ...specifically if you can see images posted after you updated to IE9.

Many thanks,
eric

Wasn't working but I took care of clearing the cache and all is working fine now.
Any change to template files should be followed by a template refresh and clear the board cache
