Looking forward to meeting and working with Christie!!
Barb that's AWESOME! I'm getting excited to go.
Alysa and Dave (Camp Directors) just emailed me and asked me to teach tracking also. So that makes tracking, agility and K9 Nosework.......and lions, and tigers and bears, Oh my! LOL. It makes things go by very quickly! That's for sure. You're gonna love it. So many of the people that attend come back to each Camp and it just becomes a very family like experience!

We are very excited!! Tracking - awesome!! Between the agility, tracking and dock diving, Odin is going to come home one athletic star. Cannot wait for you to meet him and show us what he really has and can do!!

Spoke to Alyssa last week (extremely nice). Had some general questions and she too put me at ease about Dakota.

Odin has a very controlled calm personality. Nothing and I mean nothing startles or bothers this boy or gets him spun up. Perhaps he was some sort of working dog. Whom ever had him previously did some major OB work with him and desensitized him to many many things (except kitties :x )

The only thing I am dreading is the long, long drive :eew:

I am soo jealous----of both the trip, and the pup!
Gotta stay home and care for the other animals, and another pup is out of the question until this beast of mine is older.
I'll just have to suffer through all the fun photos.

mmmh, I've been searching the net for a camp like this in Holland, so I could try and get a group together and do it on the Dutch forum too, but there seems to be no such thing yet....mmmmhhh

They have a very low tech one of these near me. It is a campground for people and their dogs and they have agility, a swimming pond, various visitors to teach CGC, Rally, massage etc. It is open all summer and has different things going every weekend. Maybe, we could have a southern style Dog Camp!

That looks really neat! I wonder if they allow people to have course time without the instructor? I think that could be a ton of fun. Also wonder if they allow tent campers. It wouldn't be very expensive though.

My problem would be that if I stayed in NC at a dog friendly camp, some of my friends that own the hairy herders (GSDs) and silly blond cousins would want to come too! LOL.

Apparently not. Too bad. Then again, I hate camping anywhere near RVs, with their noisy generators

Yes, I think that you can use any of the equipment. There are two agility rings, one for playing around and one a AKC regulation ring. 7 dog parks, walking trail and my favorite part::: it is less than a mile from where i take herding lessons!!

I bet we could have Possom Hollow set up herding and herding temperment tests for all of us!

bring on the shaggies and the blonds! We could make it a all shepherd weekend. :player: What do you think?

Finally, the time has come!! Me, hubby and the 2 furry kids are leaving for Camp Dogwood on Wed and will be back Tues. :D
It's going to be a long road trip adventure to get there!!

We are all so excited!! I believe Christie will be there teaching agility and other fun stuff and we are looking forward to meeting her.

There will be lots of pics - especially of the stripe brindle beast :P
