That really is a good video. There are so many others on you tube that are so helpful as well. Anytime I have a question with something I do with Merlin, I either ask the forum, or look it up on youtube. Sometimes both

Got some vids of playing It's Yet Choice.

First one is Ripp, she's done it a few times so she's starting up on some more advanced stuff. I always start with a closed fist so she knows what we're doing, she knows that she has to back off from the food in order to get it.

This is my new dog, it's his first time playing the game. He did pretty well, figured it out pretty quickly.

It's a pretty simple game but you can make up so many different versions and add more distractions and make it more difficult as your dog gets better. The bottom line is they learn that they have to have your permission to get or do what ever they want, be it pick up a piece of food, grab their toy, or go bite the decoy.

Odin is pretty good at this too, except the part when you put the food on his paw. We're getting there slowly, but it's amazing how fast they figure it out.

I like using the Michael Ellis DVD series as a great example of how to play tug properly, it explains in great detail how to play the right way and what pitfalls to avoid. There's even one for playing tug with puppies just starting bite training. This DVD is worth it's weight in gold to anyone wanting to learn how to tug properly.
