That's amazing! Are your dogs trained for any type of protection work or did they just sense something was wrong?

Maxine is an older rescue and a huge scaredie cat actually (but super sweet to 'her' people). She'll bark at the gate but run back into the house at a loud noise if on her own. I think she gets a lot of confidence from Luna.. I was a bit surprised to see her sticking to the prowler that day as she's darted back inside with the landscaper or delivery people.

Luna has definitely never been worked in protection but seems to have pretty good judgement. She's super social in public, but is very (and lately increasingly ) protective of her house. In the car she's fine with most people but will decide at times that she doesn't like the look of a pan handler at the intersection or the like and put up a display. I've seen her accept night time joggers surprising us on walks without a care at all. But woe betide the poor fool who approached my wife asking for money with Luna in tow.

At flyball though, she's the quietest little angel in her crate until actually leashed up to go race, loves everyone, and is all wags to anyone holding her leash or letting her out.

As for that day, when the doggie door is open, Luna always crashes out to investigate any sound and Maxine always follows to see what Luna's up too. So when Luna crashes out to find anyone other than family in "her yard" she finds it thoroughly unacceptable apparently.
