- Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.
Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!
I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences. - Location: Victoria BC

Do you think that would work?
You would think that a dog that looks like a DS would receive a little respect just on its outer appearance.

People walking with out a dog always are wary when passing me and my girls, they will always ask if they can pet them and ask questions about them, then let out a sigh of relief when they pet them and still have a hand.
Its the people WITH a dog that has no common sense and goes right up to my dogs, THEN asks if they are friendly. I always answer with NO.
When I just had Thalie, I never thought twice, she is happy and loves everyone. Sadie is the protector and is not all lovey dovey to other dogs.

- Tell us about yourself: I've had Belgian Malinois for years at my folks. I just got married, and a friend of mine who does search and rescue, had been keeping an eye out for Mali puppies for me. He came across a 9 month old Dutch Shepherd female pup who needed a home. She doesn't have the nerves to do the search and rescue she was intended for, but is perfect pet material. She's enough of a challenge to be alot of fun :)

The "Nervous" and "Caution" ones are tempting for me to get for Maiya. On her own territory she's pretty comfortable, but take her out of that zone and she gets really insecure of her surroundings. She's great with people, but is still unsure about other peoples dogs out and about in stores. I wish I lived closer to town so I could load her up and take her to Petsmart a few times a week and work with her around other dogs, so she calms down. She will work herself up and appear to want to play with them, but after a couple of minutes will start spinning and barking, and loses her cool. I need to take her over to my folks soon...let her get some playtime fun with with my folks Malinois. She should have a good time then. 
Plus, it will help me gauge how she will react around other dogs she's not familiar with, and my folks dogs are practically bomb proof after all the years of socialization we put into them.

I want one that says, "I'm nervous if you tease me. Or if I think you're teasing me." I think that's a bit much. BUT I love these! And I think only dog people - like into training/rescue/dogsport know about the yellow ribbon, Jane Doe with a yappy yorkie on the street would have NO idea.
