I bought toys called Egg Babies. They had a small opening on the belly which contained three egg size balls with squeakers. So "getting inside" and "ripping" something out was intended without destroying the toy. They held up very long. We had a Platypus and Duck. http://www.kyjen.com/shop/index.php/dog ... abies.html

Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.

Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!

I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences.

ehm, this is not tough...? I had one like that, a tree with squirrels in it the dog could pull out. Didn't last long... one squirrel after another got decapetated or de-tailed (whaha, detailed, get it :lol: ) after all of them were dead and had their squeekers removed, the tree had to have it...
Johan's mom felt sorry (for the squirrels!!!) and sew them back together without telling me. So they have been in a drawer somewhere for years now, popping up every now and then when my mother in law visits :whistle: Out of dog reach, ofcourse...

Tell us about yourself: I am in New York State. Got my first DS about 14 years ago (more or less as a rescue- lost her in Nov.). After years of GSD's, and a few dogs of other breeds (Rotti/Beauceron/Ger. Shorthaired Pointer/ Yorkie and my current Jack Russell) I now have another DS, 4mo female, no name yet, tho I have a few in mind.
Also have a horse-old quarter horse mare-32.
Can't wait for all the snow to get gone! Spring is coming too slow this year!

I got one of those too yeah, one broke a leg during play, but other than that they last pretty long :mrgreen:

I just got a Kong tug from my hardware store, it looks like a figure 8 and its great so far! we play tug and they chew on it and so far its not splintering or breaking, it was only about $6. I want to go back and get another one since sharing is not in their nature :whistle:

Tell us about yourself: Lifelong animal person- I professionally trained horses before my children were born. New to DS's, but not new to high drive working dogs. :) Currently have a 1 1/2 yr old DS, Koenig, and a 2 yr old English Pointer Sara. They are both rescues. Oh yes, I work at a multi species non-profit animal rescue, on Bainbridge Island, WA

Want to know anything else, just ask!

This is our newest, latest, and greatest toy. It's so nice, that I can actually LEAVE IT OUT, unattended with the monster child!!!!!!!

He'll chew on it for hours. Chomping away, happy as can be, and he's not causing any damage. We happened to win ours in a contest, but now that I know how fantastic they are, I've thought about getting the ball as well. The price tag is intimidating, but really, truly worth it! Guaranteed/Replaceable for life!

Tell us about yourself: Had a GSD, am getting a DS puppy in a few weeks. Compete in agility, obedience, and cross train in tons of stuff. Found out about this site from the DS Rescue yahoo list.

I saw one of those in a store when I was traveling a few weeks ago...it seemed like a great toy (and I seriously considered buying it...).

Do it Leih!!!!!! You will not be disappointed. I loved it so much, I practically begged my boss to order them, and carry them in the shop. (She did!)
