you don't need more than one sire to produce these colours in one litter But hey, anything could have happened

They lied. It is actually the total opposite. People there, for a large part, leave their animals intact, even if they have absolutely no intention of breeding. Considering the fact that unfixed also has its health risks, I think that is not the best route either. At least one heat, maybe two for females and at least a year old for males would be a good rule of thumb, to let the hormones help create a balanced individual. But on the other hand; I have SEEN the utter mess that gets created by back yard mutts that reprocuce upon first heats and the poor pups that are the consequence. I totally understand that a humane society is not willing to take the average owners word for it (we will get him/her fixed) so I also understand why they do what they do.
But to make it sound like a common practice all over the world? Nope. Not so.

Seeing mom and sister only confirms the GSD lineage. Mom is not a white GSD, just a light colored one.
The sister is just a normal B&T colored GSD. The sire must have been black or brindle, since the brindle pup cannot have gotten it from the dam (who is not 'white' and therefore cannot hide any brindle) No wait. The sire was not black.

why was the sire brindle and not black?

Thalie was spayed late because of Ring sport, the dogs must be intact in order to show. Sadie was spayed at 12 weeks. I can understand too the shelters not trusting people.

Sadie spayed @ 12 wks? Wonder what the chances are that it would have anything to do with her developing HD?

Fortunately it is entirely our option if and when to neuter him. He will be 6 months on Nov 9th so we are thinking around then since he will be going off to a guard dog board and train program beginning of January while we go skiing.

What is a good intelligence/mind game you recommend? He is very smart and I enjoy testing him and he gets into training as well.

im not a breeder but I would have to doubt that. She had some ouchies early on.

There are some studies showing delayed growth plate closure in dogs when spayed at 7 weeks, as opposed to 7 months as opposed to full adult. There are no studies (that I am aware of) that show any correlations between early spayed neuter and hip issues. I know there is some discussion of spayed females becoming obese and that effecting hip integrity, but we certainly know that is not the case with Sadie.

because.... the black is dominant, so there could not have been black and tan or brindled pups? Not entirely sure...?

I have met some "black" GSD that when examined from up close, did turn out to have some brown on the paws, and than they era a black and tan afterall, right?

Correct.

The litter and parents were taken from the owner and split between two rescue agencies central texas GSD rescue and second chance GSD rescue. Our's passed my request to them and sent our pup's dad photo. attached.

Dutch's mom is not a white GSD. She would be all white if she were. She's got black on her face and a black saddle. She's a regular GSD. His sister looks very much like a GSD too.
