So I've been totally slacking in training my dog lately. (think along the lines of several months.... We got our B in October, and I've totally dropped the ball since then)

Anyhow, long story short, I started a blog to try and keep track of my training, what we're working on, and all that junk.

I think that's a great idea! I know how hard it can be to stay motivated. I "do" dogs almost every minute of everyday. From 7am-11pm cleaning kennels and rotating, and then training clients throughout the day. I just don't get very excited about training my own dogs until I am actively doing it.

Let me know if it helps keep you focused and goal oriented.

I'm doing dogs all day too Christie- (grooming) Some days it leaves me wanting to go home and spend hours working my dog, just because he IS so well trained, and I deal with total monsters at work, and other days I get home, and just don't have the energy for any possible frustration he may give me that evening...

It's hard. We got our B, and out 1 is a ways out, so I don't have an immediate goal looming in front of me.

I'll let you know, and hope to keep it updated. Unfortunatly it's a week before Xmas, and the busiest time of the year at work. It's like people wake up and go "Oh crap, I've got a dog- it smells like a GOAT, and I've got family coming over!' We're swamped with filthy matted dogs.

Life should return to normal soon!

hey, wait a minute... It is the week before Christmas and my dogs smell like dirty goats!

Ah, what do I care, my family is used to it

I know what you mean though, having a clear goal in sight always motivates me.... whether I have a cello recital, have to fit my fat arse into a bathing suit, or have a dog trial/test.... I need that concrete "I will be ready by______!"

Christie I feel the exact same way! Bit of doggy burn out I always end up putting of training my own guys and when I finally get around to it I don't want to stop and think why didn't I do this sooner.

I'm feeling the same way with what seems like never ending sick animals that need care and dog club stuff that I'm wrapping up (and I said NO alot for next year). I'm excited for the new year so classes and training can start up again and we can get on a regular schedule. Sadly we have been blessed with amazing weather and no snow and I should be outside more training under the yard light.
