Was wondering if anyone has heard from Leih and Geyser or knows how she is doing? Haven't seen any posts from her in a while.

No, we were not kidding. The spelling was horrible, but extremely entertaining. :g_wink:
(She must feel loved now, with all the people asking about her) :wtg:

Oh, I can probably throw in some typos to keep y'all happy

Yup, finally back.

It's been a long two months since I was in the shop for my new hip :D . It's doing really well, but it's very tiring. After the frist 4 weeks, I took back full responsibility for taking care of Gesyer (my spousal unit and a neighbor friend had been helping out with her daily exercise and walks, since I spent most of my time prone :wtg: ).

So, now I do my daily PT, and then, she gets two long sessions outdoors exercising and training and walking, and then, it's back to the prone position for me  , and alas, my computer requires an upright, sitting position.

But, as you can no doubt tell from the decrease in typos, I'm taking a lot less pain meds (thankfully...hate that stuff, but man, when you need it, you need it). Still resting a lot, and you find out you've overdone it by overdoing it (no one can tell you exactly how much you can do; your body has to to that).

I'm still chomping at the bit, tho, as I'm bored to tears with being restricted to my landlords' wonderful property...same ol same ol every day. And, now that tick season is here, and we had such a mild winter, we're totally restricted to the mowed paths, and can't even go onto the wooded trails (just pick up too many of those nasty pests...).

Tried a mild hike last week on a nice trail...turned out it was too soon yet  . But, we're getting there.

And, Geyser just turned 23 months old! I can't believe it. As I said on someone's cute puppy pics post, it's great to see all these gorgeous little DS babies, but I'm so glad to be out of the puppy stage.

She's thriving and doing great with her agility training. She's rocking at the weaves, her jumping is coming along great, and our handling exercises are just getting better and better. We're doing a lot of distance handling stuff, since I'm still restricted to a walking pace. We haven't done much nosework lately, just no energy for that too, but the few times we have, she's not lost a thing. We're way ready for the the first Odor Recognition Test, but they're far and few between around here. I think the next one is in Sept, and I'm hoping to sign up for that. If I have any moola left, that is...

The only negative thing is that I'm spending all the money I'd saved up for classes and such on getting her exercise intolerance issue diagnosed. The poor thing has had so many blood tests and Xrays...and as you may remember, she's a bowl of quivering jello at a vet's, so I hate having to put her thru all that. OH well. We've gotta get it figured out.

Initially, my vet and the specialist she'd sent the Xrays to thought it was her lungs, so she was on Chinese herbs for over three months. No significant improvement, so back to square one. So, took her to see the specialist, who after an oxygen usage test, and taking Geyser's temp after inducing her having to lie down and rest after exercise, was freaked at how high her temp was after resting. The specialist now thinks it's not her lungs, since her oxygen levels were fine after the exercise, and the temp thing indicates it's something else.

So, she had another test for muscle stuff (CPK, or something like that  ), which was negative, so it's not her muscles not being able to metabolize the work product. Next, we just did a genetic test. Waitinig for those results. If it's not that, then the next thing to investigate is her heart (I shudder to think what a cardiologist is going to cost!), and if that's not it, then it's back to the lungs and a biopsy (they just want all of my damn money, don't'cha think? )

She gets a lot of daily exercise and is solid muscle, but I just take a book with me and read while she's resting...constantly. Good think I like to read  .

That's my story and I'm sticking to it

Thanks for all the well wishes!
