I had such a chuckle when I came across this dog. Im sure there are so many funny mixes out there. This one is a German Shepherd Basset hound mix. I really wonder what the temperament is like?

Re: GSDxBH
Love It!
My parents always told me the story of picking out their first dog together from a shelter shortly after they got married. They were looking for a big dog and found this gorgeous German Shepherd they were interested in, and then it stood up! They said it looked like someone attached basset legs to a purebred GSD. They laughed so hard and couldn't focus on the dog anymore. After they stayed and talked about it for so long, an Alaskan Malamute walked by and they were sold!
That Malamute was Brandy, my first dog ever. He passed away at the age of 14, I was 4. We became best friends after he realized I spilled a lot of cheerios from my highchair.

HAHAH What a great story Steph!
I was looking more through the pups and saw a Basset X Rott ! I fell in love! I want him so bad now. Thalie would be happy, Sadie would have someone else to chew on.

- Tell us about yourself: Dogs are my life, what can I say. GSDs primarily for nearly 50 years til bringing in my first DutchShep about 4 years ago. GSD rescue for 9 yrs, nearly 200 thru my home, rehabbed, adopted out. Been involved in AKC ob, herding, tracking, agility; Schutzhund-DVG; scent detection (HR-water)&narcotics, some patrol work. Mostly herding training at present on my little farm.
Re: GSDxBH
Lisa, maybe temperament is something like a Cardigan (Corgi with a tail). A friend breeds and shows Cardies and they are so much like my GSDs, just shorter!! Serious little herders.

- Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.
Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!
I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences. - Location: Victoria BC

- Tell us about yourself: Hi.....my name is Angela. I have 2 daughters and 1 granddaughter. All of my dogs (and cats) are rescues. I have a puppy that we just adopted that I think could be at least part Dutch Shepherd. We also have a 2 year old pug/min pin mix and an 11 year old border collie and possible lab mix.
Re: GSDxBH
Awww...poor girl! Lol! One of my dogs is a pug/min pin mix....with a pretty severe underbite. Always good for at least a smile no matter what mood people are in! If she wasn't so funny about being touched by strangers I would get her into pet therapy.

- Tell us about yourself: 40 something mom of 3 sons, 2 living....mother of one beagle girl, Puddles age 9 and our yet to be determined "shepherd" type girl Beta, age 2. Beta was rescued from an area no-kill shelter and was assumed to be a GSD/Greyhound mix, perhaps? I sure cannot find anything greyhound about the girl, sought out Brindle Shepherds and came across the DS, and began to wonder.....she is the absolute best dog anyone could want.

I had to chuckle at this cutiepie! Reminds me of "Bertha", one of the dogs who live on our block....she is a Pit Bull/Dachshund (wienie dog) She looks exactly like she sounds, Pit Bull head/face/bulk with the height and length of a wienie dog. She is adorable.
