Thank you I just LOVE her sweet face! She's already 40 lbs but I can still see that one rib and her stomach is tucked she is also pretty tall already almost 21 inches at the shoulder blades. I found out she is mixed with belgian from Daneskjold Nawty to Oscar Lowenfels to her Daddy who's name I can't remember at the moment but I don't care I still love her and her Mom is Dutch and she looks just like her Mom ! Hopefull you guys won't hold it against her lol!
As for her and Terra they are still not the best of friends but they no longer royal rumble through the house anymore

Aww thank you! She's so sweet and super smart and I'm such a proud Mommy! I can't even express how happy I am with her. Now if I could only get her to stop nipping people on the bum when they walk by...... actually no it's kinda funny as long as it stays a nip...

Its either a confidence issue, or a punky puppy problem. Either way, I would nip THAT in the butt ASAP.

I'm not sure if it's a confidence issue or not yet since she is still teething and drooling EVERY WHERE but at this point she's still exploring everything with her mouth. I'll be sure to keep an eye on that any suggestions on how to nip it? She goes next week to see her trainer again so I will have my husband work with the trainer and her on that. Oh and mainly she nips everyone elses bum but mine LMAO! I get hugs and super wet kisses and lap cuddles

Christie...hope you don't mind me jumping on in here ...

First, you gotta understand than anything you allow, you train...PERIOD. So, don't let her do it! How? Well, you know the situations that she's likely to do this behavior, so have her on a leash, and don't let her. Simple. Remember that you want to prevent unwanted behavior as much as possible, which is the easiest way to prevent practicing which creates issues.

Have you taught her a "leave it" cue yet? If not, get rolling on it NOW. At 6 months, she should have a very good leave it (I haven't been around for a while and don't know your pup's history...). There are lot of threads on leave it. so you can use the search function if you need more help with that .

She's a doll, and looks like she loves going for that tug!

Yeah she loves the tug! She is pretty good at leave it, so I had better get on the ball with that. I'd hate to have her become aggressive with the family cause of something I accidentally taught her I've had her for a almost a month now and she is learning at a super fast speed. I'll just keep her on her leash until she learns what's acceptable

No, of course not.

I agree with everything Leih said. But to add to that, I have seen many dogs in conflict take butt bites. I don't know if it goes back to herding instinct, but I assume it results from conflict and the dog only taking the pop shot that they are comfortable with. Meaning, if they aren't comfortable having a face to face confrontation (from confidence or something we created) then often they feel comfortable getting the last word in after someone turns away and are no longer a threat.

I agree with the "Leave it" aspect of things, but at the end of the day, control is control. If you tell our dog to sit or anything for greeting, that is a position that it can not break until told otherwise. So as people walk away, I would remind the position, keep the dog's focus and then reward with a huge celebration moving away from the butt they wanted to bite. The idea is "You get nothing over there (and realistically, I will correct you for bad decisions), but stay focused on mom and life is golden."

The biggest thing, you have to control the exit as much as you control the greeting.

Wow CM (and not Cesar Milan LOL) thanks that really cleared up things more for me. It's exactly what you all are saying she nipped me in the bum last night after I corrected her for jumping up on my 3yr old nephew. Which I then had to correct her again but I do believe she may be nipping out of insecurity. I think maybe I need some training......

Thats a total herding breed thing, GSDs nip heels as pups as well, you just have to say no or leave it and give them something better to do or a small gentle correction and refocus, as they have all said anything you allow will become a behavior, it may be cute now but as the fully grown adult tiger shark they become it will not be funny when she does it EVEN if its still but a small play nip she could still do damage lol

Hi Anna! LOL! Well I nipped the nipper in the bud and just wanted to give everyone a quick update on my beast! Yes that's what we are calling Raven .....the beast sometimes behemoth lol! She doesn't herd us anymore but Terra the Westie is now herding Raven and they are having great fun doing it too lol! They race around the yard like to maniacs. Raven is doing so well with her obedience training and she is gorgeous! Totally sweet and protective. I just love my girls. I will try and put up some new pictures soon. I just wanted to thank everyone for all your advice.
