Quirks

A little quirky thing that happens to Sugar...her lip on one side sometimes gets sort of stuck onto the side of her upper canine tooth so it almost looks like she is sneering, but it's cute. Happens often enough, but haven't been able to get a pic.

Anybody else have a quirky thing their dog(s) do?

Lol! Diesel had the same thing happen the other day but with both lips, he looked like such a dork! I couldn't stop laughing! Wish I got a picture!

Diesel has many quirks but my favorite is how he likes to put his cheek next to my cheek as a sign of affection I guess.

I love that lips-on-the-canines thing. My dogs usually have done it with both sides simultaneously. I'd love to capture that and shape it, but I'm not all that great at capturing behaviors, as opposed to shaping them or training them some other way.

Geyser loves to poke. She'll greet the cats, then you've gotta watch her, or else she'll poke them on the neck. I think she's trying to engage them in play, but alas, they're just not interested.

One of her biggest quirks, tho I know this isn't really a quirk...she loves rolling her head around in any kind of poop. I hate it, of course, as she ends up stinking to high heaven. Next to that, she loves rolling in grass clippings, and then there are the grass cow pie things that result from the mower going over them again and again. She loves to eat those. Ambrosia to her. Sheesh... :yernuts:

That is soo cute that Diesel puts his cheek on yours. What a sweetie.

Leih, I'm sorry 'bout Geyser's quirk with the poop...yuk!

Roxie's jaw quivers sometimes. I've caught her twice. Once at the vet when I hit a spot while petting her and once when I was working on obedience with her and she was excited to get her treat. Emmy has a horrible underbite so all of her bottom teeth stick out of her mouth. Nova has one ear up and one ear down (she's 12 years old, not changing now)

Geyser! lol

Olaf often curls in his paw and under his leg (the same leg as the paw lol) when he lies down. It looks freaky, like its broken.
And a cute thing he does when we play and cuddle is "wiping" his ears and eyes with his paws, like it scratches, or like he does a "shy" trick. I find that adorable.

Lyric likes to sleep with her head turned backwards over her withers, facing her butt-----looks like a broken neck. I hate it, it's creepy.

Well, Sadie is one big quirk!! Sadie ALWAYS gets her lips, yes both, stuck on her teeth! Then she gives you this "huh?" look, its so funny. She also sleeps like Lyric, with her head twisted all of the way around onto her withers, it does look creepy.

Thalie is fairly quirk free, I guess. Unless Stealth is a quirk, I am always loosing her, she will be either right behind me or she blends right in no matter where she is.

When I got home from work last night I started really thinking about how many things Diesel does that are quirky! I am going to have to share a few more :)

Diesel loves having his ears cleaned...I will take a kleenex and clean his ear...he actually leans in and grunts with pleasure...then when I take the kleenex out, he has to smell it then he will lean in for more cleaning.

Diesel does that too put he pushes with the side of his head when playing or engaging play with other dogs.

LMAO!

If Ripp wants attention while I'm in the bathroom at the sink or mirror she will come from behind and stick her head through my legs and looks up at me squeaking. She's really persistent at it too, if I try to close my legs together she gets her whole body involved into trying to push her head through. She will do this at other times too and walk with me like this keeping her head poked through as if she's doing a ring exercise.

Atti will jump on my back while I'm on my computer and puts his paws on my shoulders and tippy taps back and forth from side to side as if he's giving me a massage. :) There's usually some whining involved too. I hope to shape this to a full back massage one day. So far I can tap my shoulder and he will jump up and do a bit of it on command. He will also nibble my neck or ears while doing this, and he DOES steal earrings! He will actually gently pull an earring out of your ear and try to sneak off with it while holding it in his front teeth.

Hilarious!

Another quirk I realized today about Sugar is that when I go out and leave her in the house, she is always very happy to see me come back. Tail wagging, ears back, wiggle butt, you know how it goes. BUT, if I take her with me and leave her in the car, doesn't matter how long she is left in there, a moment to drop off a library book, or half an hour while grocery shopping or an hour or so for a longer shopping trip...she is never glad to see me. She looks like she is mad or annoyed at me. She just looks at me with disdain. I can't even get her excited. What the heck is that about??

Sue...... that is really funny because Sadie does that too!!! Even if I am just out doing yard work while they are in the fenced back yard they are soooo happy but in the car, Sadie always gives me this upset look. Thalie is always happy to see me in the car, she must look to see if something is for her.

Sadie too? It is very bizzare behavior isn't it? I am so curious as to why...?

mmmh, I never realized, but mine do that too, the car thing  They might lift an eye-lid, but that's it. When you come home they go ballistic. I always thought it's because at home they were "left behind" and in the car, they are "with me" in a way, I guess they see the pause moment in the car as part of the trip? The car is an extention of me to them in a way?
