I ran next door for a bit to see their new calf, threw the dogs in their crates like usual. Got back about 1/2 hour later, went in the office to let firls out of their crates, now here is the important part.......they both are looking at me from
inside their crates... My daugter went to open thalies crate, and then sadie walks out the back and around to the front of the crates..............
The back was open, its a collapsible crate, laying on the ground but Sadie was in the crate. Go figure.

Maybe time to use some bungee cords or clips! I've seen dogs who could get out of any type of crate, and once they figure it out you're in for real trouble. Had a Beauceron here who figured out that if she pushed up hard enough on the "Vari Kennel" she could pop the door! Also a GSD who could open the Kennel Aire, not sure how, but had to re-enforce that too. A Boxer who was a whizz at the fold downs. Don't let it become a habit, reinforce now!

So, obviously they are both ready for crate free time? They have been waiting to tell you since the crates seemed SO important to your day!!!

I cant leave thalie free in the house, she gets separation anxiety so bad she chewed through some of my wood windows. I can leave her free though if she dosnt hear my truck leave. Sadie, I think would be okay but I still dont trust her 100%.
The crate Sadie was in was a bit stretched out by Thalie banging on it. I did have zip ties on it that did the trick, then the girls actually switched so Sadie was in that one and she comply's so I didnt think about it. But there were a few times Thalie was in that one and I hadnt noticed it getting loose. I re zip tied it with a ton of the strong ties. Ill have to remember to keep checking it.
It was just funny seeing Sadie IN the crate and the back was open.

She was probably perplexed as to why there weren't any bars....

Good girl Sadie for staying in your crate!!

Funny!
I don't crate Sugar anymore, but I have her crate with the door off in the living room as her bed and she is quite happy in there. (Unless we are on the couch; then we get the chin-resting-on-the-couch-look...and we can't resist inviting her up of course.)
