Abigail is smarter and wiser than Cino...
She rarely jumps in bed with me and does so even less as it gets harder for her to get up into the bed. This morning I woke up before the alarm clock and was just laying there wresting with Cino. Abigail comes into the room, looks at me, turns and start to bark and run out of the bedroom.
Cino is immediately up and out of bed racing around the house.
...Abigail just came back to me, tried to get into bed and didn't succeed ... so I helped her. Had a few very blissful moments with my first love - until Cino realized what happened and pounced on us both.

- Tell us about yourself: I adopted a Dutch Shepherd mix (without knowing what she was) from the SPCA here in Victoria BC and am now trying to learn everything I can about this breed. My husband and I work from home most of the time so I thought it was time to get a puppy! We have his 2 boys here half the time and we wanted a nice family dog.
Sugar looks like a miniature Dutch Shepherd with floppy ears, and has every ounce of DS traits in her little body!
I hope to learn from other DS owners and share doggy experiences. - Location: Victoria BC

Re: Abigail is smarter than Cino
...and Cino HAS matured and yet he is still a little punk!
Just finished mowing the lawn for the first time since May. In and out of the house, watering the trees, in and out of the gates... As I was finishing up I forgot to close one of the gates in the yard. When I came back around the house Cino was standing there looking at the open gate and watching me. When I was about 10 feet away I told him "free" and he came bounding out the gate and ran right into me.
Why a little punk?
Earlier today I went down to the local watering hole for a bite to eat and ran into an old neighbor, her boyfriend and a friend.
The boyfriend lives 2 doors north of me and I'm sad to say I have never met him before today. Her friend lives a block south of me.
Both of them couldn't stop talking about what a different dog Cino was the bar versus being free in the yard. It was all about, "This is the same dog that is so protective in your yard?" Yep!
The very same dog that is snoring at my feet under my desk right now. The very same dog that crawled up in my lap this afternoon while I was napping on my front porch in my Adirondack.
